What does Slaine mean? by Crystal |
"Slaine" can be either a masculine or feminine name, meaning "health". It bears a similarity to the Irish toast: "Slainte!" which means "Cheers!" or "Good health to you!"
I'm not certain if it's pronounced "SHLAN-uh" or "SLAN-uh". Phyllis on this board may know, as she's a student of Irish Gaelic.
