Ster sounds almost exactly the same as English 'Stair'. Sterre is STAIR-ruh.

You're right, but you need to roll the R a bit more..our Dutch R is a hard, rolling r, with your tong more to your palate than with a usual R (normal like the R in Robert (first r), but now more!)Our language is hard..hehe

ahh it's very hard to understand *----*so the truth is i'm thinking to make a character nameand " Kasterre " is come out i think it's pronounce like " Caster " and after i read for an answer it's must be Castair-ruh ?
