Further, if your ancestry is Scottish the modern Gaelic spelling is "Caimbéul." If your ancestry is Irish the modern Gaelic spelling is "Caimbéal."

Regarding your given-name, I am guessing, but I think it relates to a 'drum' as the words 'tambour' and 'tambourine.' Your parents would have better knowledge of this than anyone else, since they either found or invented the name.
