Correct me if I'm wrong, somebody...
But the meaning of a name *is* what it's derived from. Unless the name is also a word, like Melody or Rain, the meaning of the word it is derived from is considered its meaning. I don't quite understand what you mean.Megan doesn't mean a Welsh pet. It's a pet form of Margaret, which means that it's a nickname for Margaret. Not the name of a pet. :)

That's rightIn the case of Megan you have to click on the link to Margaret to continue. I don't see how it can be much simpler than that.
