has anyone ever heard Cet?
I got this name from a series of books I've been reading based on the Arthurian legends. Ordinarily I'd just assume it's made up, but these books are meant to be as realistic as possible and therefore use all real Celtic (I believe either Britonic or Welsh) names. Cet was not a major character, just a stablehand on one page, but I love the name am wondering if any knows if it's real. If it is (or was at some point) what does it mean? Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

"Cet" sounds like a diminutive of some kind -- either invented by the author or actually derived from an Arthurian era name. It could conceivably be a name derived from the Welsh name "Cedrych". (See Cedric ).-- Nanaea

If the author is taking any liberties with the time period (which most do with Arthurian pieces), it could also derive from the Old Scandinavian "Ketil" (still used in Norwegian), or the Anglo-Saxon "Cytra", both male names. Both these names occurred in England from about AD 700 til 900-1100.- Da.
