Timothy has a few names related to it in Irish Gaelic.Timothy is transliterated or literally translated into Gaelic as Tiomóid, but it is also used as an equivalent for the native Irish names Tadhg, Tomaltach, Tuathal, Teimhnín, and possibly more. But Tadhg is the big one. It was once very common and is still frequent today. It is pronounced [TIEGH] like the first sylable of the word 'tiger.' In the name Tadhg the 't' is a consonant, the 'g' is a consonant and the 'adh' is the vowel sound. It is also equivicated to the English names Thaddeus, Theodore, Theodosius and Toby. One diminutive form of Tadhg is Taidhgín, pronounced [TIEG-een], and this is roughly equivalent to Timothy's nicknames Tim or Timmy, Thaddeus' nickname Thady, etc.I'll bet that Tadeen was based off of Taidhgín in a round-about-way. The simplest explanation would be a mispronunciation of Taidhgín or confusion with the Thaddeus equivication.
