2014:
Jamie and Yasmine met in college and bonded over helping others, so in their first year of marriage, they begin volunteering with a charity that provides school supplies and other necessities for children in need.
2015:
Yasmine transitions to working in the pediatric ICU of the hospital she works for. It's a challenging job, but Yasmine is up to the task and puts everything she has into caring for her patients.
2016:
Yasmine finds out she is pregnant not long after the first of the year, and a healthy boy is born to the Harrises. Winston Nicholas has brown eyes and Yasmine's wavy black hair.
2017:
Exactly 14 months after Winston's birth, the Harrises welcome another child, this time a girl. Bianca Rosamond has curly brown hair and hazel eyes.
2018:
The Harris family adopts a chinchilla. Jamie and Yasmine want Winston and Bianca to learn from a young age how to take care of pets. They name the chinchilla Zippy.
2019:
Due to cutbacks at the news station, Jamie loses his job. Yasmine starts working more, and Jamie stays home to take care of the kids.
2020:
Yasmine got the opportunity to join a practice with two other doctors, and she accepted! Her hours are now more stable, and she enjoys having her own practice.
2021:
Yasmine and Jamie have been trying to have another child, but without any success. They sign up for an adoption agency and are matched with a sixteen-year-old boy from Ethiopia. Dejen Joseph lost both of his parents in an accident when he was four and has lived with various distant relatives, but he wanted to find a permanent family. The Harrises bonded with him quickly, and he loves playing with his new brother and sister.
2022:
The Harrises take in a stray cat that comes around their neighborhood, which they name Seymour.
2023:
The family moves to a new house that is closer to Yasmine's job and the kids' schools.
2024:
Jamie's father passed away suddenly from a heart attack, so the Harrises took time off work and school to be with their extended family after this tragedy.
2025:
Yasmine is surprised to discover that she is pregnant again! The children get a little brother, Oscar Blaine, who has curly black hair and hazel eyes.
2026:
Since Jamie and Yasmine did not get to take a trip on their ten-year anniversary, they take some time off to go to France! The younger kids stay with their aunt and uncle, while Dejen is at university. Jamie and Yasmine travel across the countryside of France, ending their visit in Paris.
2027:
Winston has been asking for years if he could have a pet snake, and his parents finally relent! He names it Wrinkles.
2028:
The Harrises again expand their family with another adoption! They had such a good experience adopting Dejen, even though he was a little older than most children are when they are adopted. Their new daughter from Vietnam, Lành Mai, is fifteen years old. Her mother abandoned Lành because she already had so many children and could not afford to take care of them all. She has been learning English in her school, though she is nervous about acclimating to a new culture. Jamie and Yasmine are very willing to take things slow with Lành, and Dejen also helps her out a lot.
2029:
Jamie and Yasmine think they are done having children, but they discover just a few months after bringing Lành home that Yasmine is again pregnant! At the first ultrasound, they find out that they are expecting twin boys! Yasmine is carefully monitored during her pregnancy, but they two boys are born perfectly healthy. Kiefer Daniel has wavy black hair and hazel eyes, while Xavier Leland has brown eyes and straight red hair.
