Eduardo Francisco, age 34, born in Lisbon, writes music for film and stage, works in London and mainland Europe.
Cathleen Margot, age 33, previously a classical singer and ballet dancer, now a writer after retiring due to an injury and then pregancy. Her first book, written for older children, was adapted into a successful play.
They met in music school at the age of 22/21 but didn't get together a few years later. Around the age of 30 they began trying for a child but after a late term miscarriage decided it was in her health's best interest to adopt.
They speak English, both, with him speaking Portuguese and French and her Italian and a little Spanish. They are both Catholic but progressively so.

She is a member of the book club and is the leader of an advocacy group for children's literacy. She was working with one of Emmett's patients when she met him. Although she had two children with her late husband, it was always her dream to adopt, since she was adopted, herself.
Ari is Emmett's only (biological) child. His mother left him with his father when he was just a baby. He is the goalkeeper on the school soccer team. He is best in his math and science classes, and he hopes to work as a biochemist someday.

Brief Bio: Rumina is a locally well-known artist who is dedicated both to her craft and to her two children. When they got married, she decided to keep her last name as all her art was signed with her maiden name and didn't want to relinquish that part of her. She is wickedly intelligent, creative, passionate, witty, an avid reader, and an animal lover. She only had one younger sister and vowed that she wanted to raise her kids in a large family-centered environment to give them the childhood she always craved. After having two children, she developed a cyst on her uterus and needed a hysterectomy. She had planned to have more children and was devastated when her plans came crashing down, but soon realized not being able to have biological children didn't mean she couldn't add more to her family and became passionate about adoption.
Father: Augustine Malcolm Caldwell
Age: 39 years old.
Brief Bio: Augustine is a tough looking mechanic and lumberjack with a soft heart. His relaxed personality meshes perfectly with Rumina's uptight, analytical one and even after 11 years, she is still the love of his life. He is intelligent, loving, puts his family first, and has a great sense of humor. He always wanted a big family like the one he himself was raised in, where they saw family members every day. He was less distraught about not being able to have more biological children than Rumina and brought the idea of adoption to her attention in the first place.

She is creative like her mother, but chooses to exercise that talent by writing rather than painting. Salome spent much of her life volunteering abroad. She is passionate about helping those in need as well as preserving the planet. Having kids didn't slow down her life; Salome enjoys teaching her children about the importance of kindness and showing them the impact that they are capable of making in the world. Now, instead of conceiving more children herself, she's made the decision to give other children the loving home they deserve.

She enjoys arts, crafts, artistic photography, and cheesy sci-fi films. She speaks Persian, English and semi-fluent French, as well as some Arabic. She's agnostic, but open to religion, and enjoys learning new things.
Susanna is 35 years old and half Japanese-American, half Anglo-Korean. She mostly lives in London, but visits family all over the world. She's a journalist and well paid but no Stephen King level horror writer. She speaks English with her folks, but they both taught her what Japanese and Korean they know. She met Setareh at a friend's party, and they really hit it off - one marriage and two kids later, they've started discussing adoption - it seems the right thing to do, and it's a cause close to Setareh's heart.
Their two children Sahar and Aya were conceived through a sperm donor, but they think there's enough children without homes that they'd rather adopt than have any more of their own. Not that it bothers their kids - they're happy to have more siblings!

Congratulations! Alaia Kistiñe, Maite Zuriñe, and Usoa Garbiñe are energetic 1-year-old triplets from the Spanish Basque Country. They lost their father to a drug overdose, shortly followed by their mother committing suicide. They had a rough start to life, born early and very small, but all three are growing into bright, charming girls. Alaia is undoubtedly the leader, outgoing and talkative. Maite is quieter, a little shy and a little coy, while Usoa is sassy and always laughing. They're becoming trilingual in Basque, Spanish, and English, babbling happily over each other. Congratulations! Conrí Tadhg a sweet Irish 16-year-old and Ailbhe Róisín is his 12-year-old sister. Their grandmother raised them until she passed away three years ago due to a heart attack, and they have been struggling to stay together in the system ever since. They both know fluent English and Gaelic. Conrí has been deaf since birth, he's getting good at reading lips but he mainly communicates through Irish Sign Language. He loves reading and researching, particularly space and the possibility of interstellar travel. Ailbhe adores her big brother and looks up to him hugely. Congratulations! Adèle Marceline is a sweet 7-year-old from France, a brunette with striking grey eyes. She was the child of a young single mother until a tragic car accident changed her life forever. Adèle loves to spend hours making up stories and drawing pictures to accompany them, I'm sure she will love having a mother and sister who like to write! She is a native French speaker and has been learning English and German in school, so communicating with your family will be easy. Adéle is a wonderful child. She is getting on perfectly well with Emily and she loves practising her English with her. The age difference between them is just what they need to prove that they are sisters, NOT best friends.
