Welcome to Sun's Adoption Agency!
EDIT: now closed. Responses coming soon! Sun's Adoption Agency: Seeking to place (beautifully named) children with loving fictional families of all kinds. More accepting of single parents and queer couples than any real agency, with no fees and comparably short wait times!(Quick note: I was a huge proponent and participant of adoption agencies back in the mid-'00s, and I'm so thrilled to see that people are still doing them!)FAMILY

DH [46] Emmett Ohannes Avakian
DW [42] Anna Louisa Clarke DH's DS [16] Ari Elijah Avakian
DW's DS [13] Lucas Byron Clarke
DW's DD [10] Sylvia Natalie Clarke Emmett is a pediatrician at the local hospital. He specializes in care for children with cancer and leukemia. His grandfather was Armenian, but he's never been to the country. In his free time, he coaches his son's soccer team. He met Anna through work. He wants to raise a child with her, and adoption makes the most sense to both of them.Anna is a social worker. Her family is thoroughly American-- she's lived in the same town her whole life. She is a member of the book club and is the leader of an advocacy group for children's literacy. She was working with one of Emmett's patients when she met him. Although she had two children with her late husband, it was always her dream to adopt, since she was adopted, herself. Ari is Emmett's only (biological) child. His mother left him with his father when he was just a baby. He is the goalkeeper on the school soccer team. He is best in his math and science classes, and he hopes to work as a biochemist someday. Lucas is Anna's oldest. He is rather artistic-- in this he takes after his father, a musician, who died when he was three. He performs in musical theater and loves video games. He does not really like school as much. Sylvia is Anna's second child. She is very serious and conscientious, and is much quieter and more studious than her brother. She likes to read and write, especially poetry. She dreams of having a pet horse. Emmett and Ari belong to the Orthodox church. Anna is more secular, but she and her children will go to church with the other two on holidays. Emmett speaks only English, Anna speaks English and American Sign Language. Preferred number of children: They would prefer just one, but they would not want to split up a family and would adopt any siblings.
Gender preference: None
Age preference: Anna was adopted when she was 12, and so she would like to adopt a pre-teen or young teenager.

Name: Esti Amaia Aldana
Age: 28
Brief Bio: Esti runs cheap language classes for adults, especially immigrants and refugees, in the back of Màiri's shop. She grew up in the Basque country, speaking both Basque and Spanish. She discovered her passion for languages and by the time she left university (with a degree in teaching ESL) she was fluent in English, French and Arabic, then learnt Dutch, Mandarin and some Persian. She grew up in a large family, with 5 siblings, and since moving out to Scotland she's missed having them around her all the time, although the 7 years she's been with Màiri have been some of her best. She's planning to propose to Màiri sometime soon, as soon as she works up the nerve!Parent #2
Name: Màiri Rhona Mclean
Age: 27
Brief Bio: Màiri, always an avid reader, runs a bookshop, selling everything from kid's fiction to political memoirs. She grew up on Iona, in the Hebrides, speaking Scots Gaelic and English to her father and using BSL with her mother, who lost her hearing in an accident ages 4. She did exceptionally in school, and graduated from the same university as Esti with a degree in Linguistics and fluency in French and Spanish. She was an only child, but always longed for a sibling when she was little. Unbeknownst to Esti, Màiri's also planning to propose! What languages does the family speak? Both speak English, French, and Spanish
What religion does the family practice? Neither practice any religion; Màiri was raised Presbyterian, but stopped practicing when she moved outPreferred number of children: 2, but they're flexible
Gender preference: None
Age preference: Toddlers, but they'd also be happy to adopt older kids who've been in the agency for years
Language preference: English, French or Spanish
Will you accept/would you prefer:
--siblings? Definitely - they'd hate to see siblings split up
--multiples? Again, they'd hate to see them serparates
--children with disabilities/illnesses? To an extent - they'd both love to adopt disabled kids, but they live in a flat above Màiri's shop, and don't really have the money for modifications or expensive treatments
--pregnant teens/teen parents? Yes - Esti's mother was 17 when she had her first childOther preferences/thoughts/comments: Nope, other than that this is a really cool concept!

Brief bio: Mollie is a trained primary school teacher but has been a full-time mum since the birth of her first baby, Octavia, nearly seven years ago. With her youngest, Tasha, now in full time school, Mollie has begun to dip back into work, privately tutoring children to enhance their English and maths. Mollie has always enjoyed reading and writing - especially Young Adult fiction - and since quitting work to look after her babies has dedicated all of her (sparse) free time to writing novels. Mollie also loves cooking - especially baking and strives to get Octavia and Tasha fully involved in the kitchen - and taking the family's Dachshund-cross, Archie, for walks.Parent #2
Name: James Presley
Age: 33
Brief bio: James is a university lecturer and works incredibly hard to support his family. Although he has a university where he is based, James often finds himself on the road a lot, undertaking research and training all around the country. Despite his absence, James tries to be a hands-on dad as best he can, he loves football and regularly takes both daughters to local home matches. He also takes them to their swimming classes on a Sunday morning and always treats them to a breakfast or trip to the park afterwards.Current ChildrenNames: Octavia Mary Eleanore Presley and Natasha Sapphire Eve Presley
Ages: 6 and 5
Brief bio: Octavia and Tasha are very sweet children, born just 16 months apart, they're very close and do a lot together. Both children are in primary school now and making progress. Octavia is very headstrong and this often gets her into trouble when she refuses to do something because she doesn't see the point in it; she is also very aware of the early cliques developing in her class and tries to be a friend to everyone, standing up for children who can fall foul of bullies. Academically, Octavia is reading well above expectations for her age, she also has a good understanding of measurements such as weighing.

Mother: Rumina Hazelle Dubois
Age: 34 years old.
Brief Bio: Rumina is a locally well-known artist who is dedicated both to her craft and to her two children. When they got married, she decided to keep her last name as all her art was signed with her maiden name and didn't want to relinquish that part of her. She is wickedly intelligent, creative, passionate, witty, an avid reader, and an animal lover. She only had one younger sister and vowed that she wanted to raise her kids in a large family-centered environment to give them the childhood she always craved. After having two children, she developed a cyst on her uterus and needed a hysterectomy. She had planned to have more children and was devastated when her plans came crashing down, but soon realized not being able to have biological children didn't mean she couldn't add more to her family and became passionate about adoption.Father: Augustine Malcolm Caldwell
Age: 39 years old.
Brief Bio: Augustine is a tough looking mechanic and lumberjack with a soft heart. His relaxed personality meshes perfectly with Rumina's uptight, analytical one and even after 11 years, she is still the love of his life. He is intelligent, loving, puts his family first, and has a great sense of humor. He always wanted a big family like the one he himself was raised in, where they saw family members every day. He was less distraught about not being able to have more biological children than Rumina and brought the idea of adoption to her attention in the first place.Leyenda Melodia Dubois-Caldwell:
Age: 8 years old.
Brief Bio: She is an intelligent introvert who doesn't always choose to speak up but always has something important to say when she does. She is creative like her mother, but chooses to exercise that talent by writing rather than painting. She has a couple close friends who she does everything with and already knows that she wants to be a mother someday. She dotes on her younger brother and can't wait until she is old enough to be a babysitter.

DD: Aya Leila [4]Setareh is 34 years old and a successful architect. Born to an Iranian family and adopted into a French-British-Iranian family, she's a native Londoner who is still in touch with her roots and proud of her heritage. She enjoys arts, crafts, artistic photography, and cheesy sci-fi films. She speaks Persian, English and semi-fluent French, as well as some Arabic. She's agnostic, but open to religion, and enjoys learning new things. Susanna is 35 years old and half Japanese-American, half Anglo-Korean. She mostly lives in London, but visits family all over the world. She's a journalist and well paid but no Stephen King level horror writer. She speaks English with her folks, but they both taught her what Japanese and Korean they know. She met Setareh at a friend's party, and they really hit it off - one marriage and two kids later, they've started discussing adoption - it seems the right thing to do, and it's a cause close to Setareh's heart.Their two children Sahar and Aya were conceived through a sperm donor, but they think there's enough children without homes that they'd rather adopt than have any more of their own. Not that it bothers their kids - they're happy to have more siblings!Sahar is 6 and very tomboyish. She loves animals, sports, nature and the outdoors. She also likes to read about these things. Aya, in comparison, is sweet and girly and wants to be an artist when she is older.

Congratulations! Alaia Kistiñe, Maite Zuriñe, and Usoa Garbiñe are energetic 1-year-old triplets from the Spanish Basque Country. They lost their father to a drug overdose, shortly followed by their mother committing suicide. They had a rough start to life, born early and very small, but all three are growing into bright, charming girls. Alaia is undoubtedly the leader, outgoing and talkative. Maite is quieter, a little shy and a little coy, while Usoa is sassy and always laughing. They're becoming trilingual in Basque, Spanish, and English, babbling happily over each other. A loving family is just what these sweethearts need. Best of luck!
