Lydia has finally started dating after a five-year dry spell; she was recently asked by Justin Taylor to be his girlfriend. The two of them met at an LA Lakers basketball game, where they were seated right next to each other. When Justin introduced his toddler daughter, Cecily, Lydia fell in love with her instantly; the feeling is mutual for Cecily.
Brittney didn’t come out until a month before her wedding day to Rose Connelly. Shawn and Emilia were shocked at first because their daughter had hidden her lesbian relationship all this time, but they softened when Brittney introduced Rose. Brittney and Rose have just adopted two brothers, four-year-old Dallas and one-year-old Griffin. The boys are still getting used to their new environment and same-sex adoptive parents, but Brittney and Rose are helping them get the hang of it.
Hunter is also seeing someone: Veronica McPherson. They met in high school; Hunter had been a sophomore and Veronica a senior. As such , they only had one year of dating in person before Veronica went on to college. But as it turned out, after he graduated, Hunter had been accepted into Veronica’s college, and they started dating again (Hunter knew long-distance relationships hardly ever worked out). They’re still not married yet, or even engaged, but Hunter and Veronica have just welcomed boy/girl twins, Emilie Jessica and Oliver Samuel.
