Wow - thats my name - and I'm on here trying to find the meaning! I want a tattoo but I want it not to be seen, and for it to be personal - to do with my name maybe!
I can't help - but if you find out please let me know! My brother is called Rowan and my sister is Tamsin - although they have unusual names - they have meanings! I know it's french - there is a place near Paris called Romilly!

A guess
A page suggests that it should be latin and mean
"lady of Rome", but that sounds very odd to me, since Rome in latin is called: Roma and lady/woman is: mulier, which would at best make it into the name: Romalier. And girl in latin is: Puella, so that is probably not involved either.
My best guess is that Romilly is a name constructed from the name Emily .
