This is very wierd....
...bur croix in French is of feminine gender. The name therefore shoud read "LaCroix" (as in the case of the artist Delacroix), unless we are talking about a transgendered mutant cross of some sort. There are scores of examples in which people completely botch-up genders in their pathetic attemps to concoct pretentious pseudo-french names for people and places. I remember, for example, a cheezy 70s TV series (Dallas? Dynasty?) in which a hotel was called "La Mirage" instead of the correct "Le Mirage".
