I don't remember what the meaning was but I have a student named Makeda and I would like to kinow the meaning so I can pass it along to her. If any one can help I would appreciate it. I think it was a word in a an African language and had a very postive meaning. Thanks!!

Macedon?Possibly the name is a female version of "Macedon", meaning "Macedonian". Macedonia is a region in northern Greece (parts of historical MAcedonia are in modern-day FYROM and Bulgaria). The Macedonian empire of Alexander spread Hellenism all the way to India. Actually the last military victory set in Afghanistan was by Alexander; quite a precedent for Bush and Blair to meet :)
