i want to change my name
I want to change my name but i don't know if i should. Is it common or seen as alright for a person to change there name? because this is what keeps me back from changing my name.

I knew a guy named Brian, and then I found out that he was originally Howie, and had changed it a couple of years before I'd met him.If you're not happy with the way you feel as Richard, then change it. I also read an excerpt in something--I can't remember what now--where someone was saying that no one they knew named Richard liked his name.If you want lots of name suggestions, go to:http://members2.boardhost.com/haggisbutt/Andrea

Changing one's name should be a matter of personal choice based on personal circumstances. While this board can give you help on how to do it and where to acquire the legal forms to do it, you really should be asking those people closest to you how they might feel about calling you by a different name. Strangers can't tell you what you should do, because strangers don't know your personal circumstances. As for whether name changing is commonly done. Yes, it is. For generations women have been changing their surname upon getting married.-- Nanaea
