"Sweater Girls", fine wine, expensive champagne...
Last year, there were 22 girls born in the U.S. and named "Cashmere" (in 1999 there were less than 15).In 2000, there were 34 girls born in the the U.S. and named "Chardonnay" (46 in 1999).In 2000, there were 543 girls born in the U.S. and named "Cristal" (518 in 1999).Yes, technically "Cristal" may have been an actual name first (most likely in France) but, before the champagne came to American national conciousness, more Yanks were naming their daughters simply "Crystal" instead.-- Nanaea

I just rememebered another one: when in the States, my neighbors -- a cheesy nouveau-riche family -- named their daughter Dresden in a pathetic attempt to ascend the food chain.
