Middle name for Gabriela
Hi- I need some help with a middle name that sounds good with the first name I've chosen and my last name. I am having a girl in February and have decided to name her Gabriela. My last name is Moll (pronounced Mall--like the shopping kind!!) My first question is what do you think would be a good middle name for those two? and do you think she'll have a lot of trouble with Gabriela if it only has one "L"? Please respond. I'd like to get as many ideas to choose from as I can.

I agree with everything that Davidh said. Also, I think that a 3-syllable middle name that doesn't end in an A nor ER would sound especially nice.Gabriela Jacqueline Moll
Gabriela Caroline Moll, etc.Andrea

Another suggestion: Gabriela Bernadette. I really like this one.

You came THIS close to me coming to your house and forcing you to wear a silly hat with bells on, and then making you hop backwards up your street with your finger up your nose.

Hey Becca,I don't have a specific recommendation for a middle name (others will), but suggest the following:1) With a 4-syllable first name and a 1-syllable last name, your daughter's full name will "flow" best off the tongue if the middle name has 2 syllables (example: Marie, Louise, Erin).2) Try to avoid a middle name that begins with an A sound so the first and middle names don't blur together when spoken.3) Gabriela with one "l" should cause no problems or confusion. It's spelled that way in some parts of Europe and certainly occurs in the US.4) A favor, please: for the love of Gawd, don't use the nickname "Gabby"! Along with "Missy" for Melissa, it's one of the uglier nicknames around (in my opinion). I'm old enough that it reminds me of Gabby Hayes, the grizzled old bearded character actor ("Howdy, Buckaroos!")who played prospectors and cowboys' sidekicks in movies back in the 1930s-50s.Good luck to you both!- Da.
