Well. . . .

The message board is a part of a larger website, www.behindthename.com, which had the names in question already listed with meanings and ethnicities and such. If the name's already there, there's little sense in posting it here.Does anyone know if the message board pops up on search engines sans the website? That might explain the numerous people asking for meanings they can find ten times quicker and easier with the search feature or even scrolling through the alphabetical lists.

Some visitor to this site once did say that she'd arrived directly to this message board via a search engine, and wasn't aware of the database. On the other hand... A resourceful individual would realize from the URL that there must be a main page at www.behindthename.com. A resourceful person would then go and check it out. At the very least, a resourceful person would also check out the FAQ listed at the top of this page in order to get a clue or two as to how things operate around here before making any assumptions.I believe you were pretty resourceful, Lilith, right from the get-go.-- Nanaea

Aw, thanks. :)Yeah; I can see someone having problems if they aren't familiar with the Internet, but hopefully the majority of people realize the FAQ is a good idea if they're unsure of what they're doing. Heck, it's always a good idea.
