Pretty close. "Kerith" is a place in Hebrew, a ravine and BROOK east of Jerusalem where God sent the prophet Elijah for refreshment. See I Kings 17:3-7.

Sorry, but I couldn't locate the exact meaning.

The Hebrew name of the brook Kerith (pronounced "keh-REETH") literally means "a cut". It comes from the root word "kah-RAHTH" which means "to cut off", "to cut down", "to cut asunder", implying "to destroy".

My mothers name is Keith she is an evil vile woman with multiple abuse allegations against her.

I am also a Kerith. My parents got the name from a James Michener book called THE SOURCE taking place during archaeic times with Kerith being a Jewish princess who defies her family, leaves her husband and runs off with a poor musician.

I am a Kerith too, but in my native language. Finding the meaning of this name shines a lot of light on they type of person I am. My mom said she found the name in the bible in 1 Kings 17 and loved it.
