I really like this name and I've seen it somewhere, its a male name... don't know from where.

Tavish actually come from Scotland,as MacTavish,son of Tavish its a surname.

Uh...
I'm not exactly sure what you mean. But, yeah, Oxygen.com's Babynamer is one of the very few exceptions to the "name books and sites with the word 'baby' or 'children' in their title can't be trusted".
The Babynamer still says Katherine means "pure", but it also gives the other theories for the name. This is the only glaring mistake that I can remember on the site offhand.
