But if I were in Japan, I would write my name Jackson Miranda.As a random note, it's not always wise to do that if you go to Japan--assuming you look the part of a Westerner. Many people there have trained themselves to recognize that American (or Canadian, in your case) = family name last, and thus, they'll call you by the name you put down first. You might end up being called Jackson, then. :)It's one of those rare moments when it's not necessarily wise to do as the Romans do.Array

Actually...I just picked a random culture who wrote their names family name-given name. I'm aware that I'd actually use Miranda Jackson if I ever went to Japan. I went with my own name in both cases just to maintain example continuity (how's that for a turn of phrase? ;-D)... and because I couldn't think of a full Japanese name off the top of my head.
