Grandfather s name
my great grandfathers name was Hiram. We have always wondered how he came to have this name. He was Italian and the Italian tradition was to name the oldest son after the father. His father's name was Alberto Giuseppi or Joseph. Hirams son was named Albert Joseph so we can't figure out where the name Hiram came from. Does anyone know what it means or what reason it would be used? No one else in the family has this name.

First of all maybe Hiram wasnt the oldest son, he may have had a brother who died in infancy,
Maybe he was given the name Hiram to honour someone ie maybe someone called Hiram helped your Great grandfathers family in someway
