my oddly spelt name
Hi, my name's Enjelika. It's pronounced exactly the same way as Angelica. Some kind of variation my parents made up I guess. What do you think of the spelling? Anyways, I was just wondering if many people are called by their initials (not with their surname). Nobody calls me Enjelika. Everyone, (except my mom) calls me E.J. My full name is: Enjelika Jasmine B. I don't know anyone (except in shows) called by their initials. Is it common?

My name's Kassandra- Jacqueline Anne Emilie DelaCouronne, so I (obviously) go by KJ. But my mom insists on calling me Kassandra- Jacqueline. It's terrible. Especially when I started school earlier this year, new high school and all that, and they called role, and the teacher called my full name. All of it. All fourteen sylibles.::bangs head on table:: But it's also irritating to explain why I go by KJ, you know?Go us of the initials!-KJ

Hi, E.J.!First of all, your name is spelled in a very creative way. I love it when people can take names and give then special meaning by changing the spelling! And, there are very many people who go by their initials rather than their full names. I know a C.J., an A.J., a D.J., a C.J., and an R.J.! Why not an E.J.!?Sincerly,Zaragoza

There is a student in our school with the initials C.C. who never goes by any other name. I also know a L.J. (Linda Jean) and a B.L. (for years I thought her name was spelt "Bielle", until I found out her real name was Barbara Lee). If you prefer it to your real name, why not?

Ajay, pronounced A.J., is an Indian male name, so I think you had a lucky escape! In Afrikaans, Angela is routinely spelt and pronounced Engela (without the J sound, just the usual -ng). But to my knowledge they don't use the long form that you've got.How do you feel about it - glad to be different? Or is it a bit boring having to spell your name every time and handle the questions?
