kind of pretty. i am kind of trying to stay away from names that start with 's' since my last name does and for some reason that irks me

What's your first name? (You don't have to tell me.) You should choose a Hebrew name that sounds similar, then your friends and family won't have such a hard time changing. Also, you should choose a name that fits you. That part is hard, but it would be really hard to use a name that didn't fit your personality. Baruch Ha-Shem Adonai! Y :)

my name is Michele. I could use Michal, but i worry that i will be called Michael. or Michaela, but i have a cousin with a bratty little girl named Machaela, so i worry about them being too close. i plan to use my hebrew name as the name i always use. i will be okay if family continues to call me by my old name, though, since i do understand that it will be hard. i have been working on this for awhile because i want something that feels right. something that makes people think of a jewish name, but works well in english and hebrew with a slight pronunciation difference
