Re: Origin of the name SHARALEE
in reply to a message by Ana
Tell the Nombres Policia over there in Spain that the name you've chosen is of American origin. It's most likely an invented name, combining the names "Shari", "Cher", or "Sharon" with "Lee"."Shari" or "Cher" are of French origin, and mean "beloved"."Sharon" is of Hebrew origin, and means "a plain"."Lee" is of English origin, and means "a meadow".Go for the combined meaning of "beloved meadow" for your child's name of "Sharalee", because "plain-meadow" is redundant.Oh yeah, and if the Nombres Policia don't like that, you can always tell them you want to name your child after the well-known pie-making company called "Saralee". Because (as their motto goes): "Nobody doesn't like Saralee".-- Nanaea

Thank you very much Nanaea for giving me information on the origin of Sharalee . Probably I won´t encounter any problem
when registration time comes; hopefully the motto "Nobody doesn´t like Saralee" will include them too!
By the way, looking at other questions on the board I have seen a few on anagrams and it looks loke you know almost about everything! What is exactly (and briefly) an anagram? Thanks again

Hey, PriaposLovs! What's an anagram? :)Hi, Ana! Actually, PriaposLovs here is the master anagrammist. An anagram is a rearrangement of all the letters in a word or phrase in order to make an entirely new word or phrase. The really exceptional and clever anagrams are the ones that turn out to be actual definitions of the word or phrase anagrammed. One of the most popular examples of such which you'll find on many anagram websites is: "Clint Eastwood"="Old West Action".In past centuries, kings have sought out anagrammists to foretell future events through anagramming -- as well as provide amusement for the court.PriaposLovs (a 'net name which is an anagram of "Pavlos Spiro") can probably tell you a bit more on the history of anagramming. But he's probably gone to the mountains again this weekend, and we won't be seeing him around here until tomorrow. :)-- Nanaea
