Thank you for the reply. I'm not sure, but it doesn't seem to fit. Does this help - both people I knew were from Wisconsin. Or is that fully a coincidence? They are nearly a generation apart in age and don't know one another.
Both were so pretty, I always think of it as a pretty name.

Yikes!I've met a Tana too, at least that's how I think it was spelt.... she pronounced it "tah-nah" with broad "a" sounds, as opposed to saying tan-a. Anyway it was an Australian woman of Japanese heritage, but I never asked her about her name! grrrr. stupid me I really must be more curious!It could be Japanese because that was the heritage of this person I met, but then again her parents could have got it from somewhere else.

The outgoing New Zealand rugby captain is named Tana! Surname Umaga, and a wonderful sportsman, but you couldn't say'pretty' - giggle!
