Probably from Orvis the last name...Found this by searching google, but I don't know how reliable the site is. Check out the link:ORVIS
Urfhas, in the Gaelic, signifies fair offspring. Arvos, Cor. Br., local, a place on or near an entrenchment, from Ar and foss.http://www.last-names.net/surname.asp?surname=Orvis

CorvisI have seen Corvis/CorvusCorvus is a constellation of a raven/crow.
Corvis is a word in relation to birds of the Corbinite family, raven, crows, graekles etc. These names are related to Corbin, Possibly from the Roman cognomen Corvinus, which was derived from Latin corvus "raven". (from the site)That's the first thing it reminded me of.
Someone could of knocked off the C, like how the name Topher came from Christopher kinda thing.I really think it means raven.~SD
