Re: meaning
in reply to a message by REENA
Go to the Home page. Type in Rina, and think quietly about spelling variations. Also, please stop shoving your question into other people's threads. It is as rude as interrupting a conversation. We don't use UPPERCASE either, because we don't shout when we talk.

Though Reena does mean melted in Sanskrit as this site says, I am not sure that is where the name came from. The Ri- names (Rita, Rina, Riya etc.), at least the ones I know the meaning of, are surprising in meaning for a name in the social class where it is used; and, they have all come into use, to the best of my knowledge, in the last couple of hundred years when borrowing from Europe was a distinct possibility.Anyone know on onomastic experts specializing in India?
