Which country? The only British kings were James or Charles plus the 1600s and Medieval times were completely different eras as were the celtic times. Medieval kings were Henry, Edward, John, Richard, Harold, William.
There is however a Welsh village called Coelbren so maybe it is Welsh in origin.

I can find no references to a "King Coelbren". However "Coelbren y Beirdd" is a welsh alphabet style of disputed antiquity. See http://www.arthurinamerica.com/archives/alphabet_intro.html
