I heard the name SIL-EE-AN but it's spelled Cilian

Wow, so there are a few SIL-EE- ans out there. I have certainly never met one here in Ireland.

It's still a wrong interpretation of the name.

In France it's sil-e-AHN.
Non-English speakers do not tend to use a K-pronunciation when written a C.
