WHAT IS THE MEANING OF MY DAUGHTER'S NAME?
I named my 8-year-old daughter after the tiger in the movie Alladin. The tiger's name is Rajah, is this name male or female, what does it actually mean, and what is the ethnic background? It would mean a lot to me.Thank you,
Shana

A "Rajah" is an Indian king or prince, from the hindi raja. It's a suitable name for a male tiger, not so suitable for a female. The female equivalent would be "Rani". However, there is an Arabic name Rajaa which can be female and means hope.

Frankly, I don't believe you. You first named a live human child, that you expected to be fond of, after a Disney drawing, and then you sat back for eight years before wondering about your action? No. Think of a better story next time.

uhm...as far as I remember Raja was a male, so that kinda answers one of your questions.
Otherwise, raja is the sanskrit word for "a prince" (the female is rani), and Raja is an Arabic female name meaning "hope"
I hope that helps :P
