has anyone heard of the name KEFF or KEF ? would you be surprised to find a lady with such a name?

As a word, yes: in Afrikaans it's the sound made by yappy little lapdogs, which are known as kefhonde (yapdogs)! It might be usable as a human name elsewhere, but not here.

I've seen "Keff" used as a nickname for Kefford, which is a surname but could conceivably be used as a first name. I've never seen or heard of Keff / Kef as a female name.
