Help on the origin/meaning of Shanae
I need to find out where the female name Shanae came from. Do you think it is just a modern created name or could it be a form of Shanna or Shan?Even if you have no evidence, an opinion would be appreciated.

Shanae is actually Gaelic for "That's It":)

Since my name is Shanae, I have searched, but everything says it's based on Shane.

As you can see, this is my name :) My parents "made it up" because they liked the name LaNae, but needed my name to start with an "S" because of a little family tradition they started. Anyway, long story short, this past October I went on a trip to the east coast. I was told by someone I met there that Shanae is Gaelic and actually means "That's It."
I know this is a long time in coming, but I found this thread while doing a search on Google and thought I'd reply :)

I'm pretty sure you are on the right track. TGhe name is most likely constructed from either of the names you mention plus -nae, an ending frequently encountered in fem. names (eg. Danae).
