Name origin

Hello all. I need help with the name "Armecia" in regards to its origin and what it means. The gender is female. I believe the ethnic background is between Native American or African or possibly both. Thank you!

The best theory for this one seems to be that it developed as a shortened form of Artemisia in the Southern USA during the early 19th century.
