Surname meaning
I have search all over the net for the meaning of my family name, Falzon, and could not find anything. My family originates in marseille, and settled in malta while serving under napoleon if that helps. The rumor in my family is that it is connected with the word for falcon, but I never took this seriously. Any information would be most appreciated.

my father told me, before he passed away, that the falzon family originated from aragon, north west of spain.
there are 3 coats of arms associated with this name - i shall send you copies.
the name falzon can be found in the aragonese site, and there is a connection to malta through a number of families.
many apparently came down from france and italy alsodont know if this helps - but its a start.
i have been searching myself - let me know if you find out anything meatyregards

The Italian surname "Falzone" means: "one who made, or worked with, scythes or sickles". The name is derived from the Italian word for sickle: "falce". Perhaps your family's name of "Falzon" may have been a French derivative of the Italian name?-- Nanaea
