From Greek verb 'faino'
From Greek verb 'faino', meaning 'bringing something to light',
Phaedo (originaly FAIDON in Greek) means: 'the shining one, 'the brilliant one'. Both names Phaedo and Phaedra (originaly FEDRA in Greek), derive from the verb 'faino', which itself derives from the word for light in Greek, 'fos'.
