Bristol
Sarah Palin's daughter is called Bristol. In England, Bristols have a humorous connotation because of rhyming slang. Is Bristol a common name in America? :-)

I wouldn't say Bristol is common, but it is becoming more popular for babies. A trendy name per say.

It is not common, but Bristol Palin is not the only one. For example, there was a girl named Bristol born in the state of Nebraska in 2007, according to official records. There is a dentist in the Atlanta, Georgia area named Dr. Bristol Williams (probably a man) who has donated money to the Barack Obama campaign, according to the Huffington Post online donor registry. :)

Thanks, Cleveland. :-)In England Bristol is short for rhyming slang for Bristol City so it's unlikely to catch on here.

I believe Sarah Palin's Bristol was named after Bristol Bay in Alaska, where her family has a house.Otherwise, I've never seen it before.

Interesting - thanks, Sofia. :-)

Sofia is corect. Bristol was named for a city in Alaska. I believe Sarah Palin's daughter Willow was also named for an Alaskan city.
