A cade is a barrel and as a surname Cade/Caden started as a nn meaning 'barrel-shaped'.However, Cady seems to be nothing more than a respelling of Katy from Katherine - most likely 'pure' in Greek though some have argued the 'torture' point quite well.cheersDevon
