Message: "Renda" - Behind the Name

I looked in the database and did not find a name I was looking into. The name is RENDA, like (REN-duh). My friend with this name is German / Polish and female. Could it derive from MIRANDA as it's close to Randa? A German freind of ours calls her RENATA. Your help is much appraciated. Fantastic site, by the way!

One more possibility:

Renda could be a variant of Rendel which is a German pet form for Reinhild / Reinhilde.

I think your guesses of Miranda via Randa and Renata could be correct. Other possibilities could be Brenda or Brendan, or Randall / Randolf / Randolph.
