Re: To Help Discover My Purpose
Not hard at all. Moberly/Moberley means 'moot-mound clearing' or in American English 'assembly-mound clearing'. A 'moot' is a point of debate. Here in England you used to find certain places, small mounds being rather common, where people would assemble and debate the hot topics of the day. In London there is still 'Speaker's Corner' at Hyde Park - show up, wait your turn and then the assembled audience/hecklers are all yours for a few minutes.
Towns called Moberley in Cheshire and Staffordshire take their name from this source.Perhaps the purpose of your surname is crystalline - you could set up a moot to debate whether names are divinely chosen for their meaning and if so in what of the 1000+ languages of which meanings can be drawn - often multiple and completely different meanings - God is intending them to be interpreted in....I daresay there are a few out there who would happily join such a debate ;o)Devon
