it looks like a variation of Cynthia... Some one, for some reason wanted the "TH" sound to be "D" as in "the" and not the regular "TH" sound as in "thanks"
... or so it seems...

Cynthia -Latinized form of Greek Kynthia which means "woman from Kynthos"
So how is Denis connected to Cindia?

The poster wasn't asking about Cindia but Idenis which has some visual resemblence to Denis.Devon
