My name is Thea (Tee-ah, long e) Never heard of it eh?
My name is not short for Dorathea as all the silly 'behind-the-name' websites I have visited say. Its a really weird name huh? I was named after someone who I don't know. Suppsidly though, she was a drop dead gorgeous, brilliant, kind woman. HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! I am nothing like that! Gorgeous:nothing like it on me, Brilliant:I'm weird, not brilliant, Kind:Eh.. sorta. I hate to admitt it though. Does anyone have a name just as weird as mine? Well of course there are weirder names...

MY FATHER NAMED ME AFTER HIS EX-GERMAN GIRLFRIEND FROM YEARS BEFORE.HE WASN'T THAT FOND OF HER, BUT HE LOVED THE NAME. IN GERMANY THEA IS PRONONCED (TEE-AH) BECAUSE IN GERMAN, THE "H" IS SILENT UNLESS IT'S THE LEADING LETTER, MOST OF THE TIME. I ALSO GET A LOT OF CRAP, ABOUT HOW I SAY MY NAME. THEY SAY IT'S NOT SPELLED THAT WAY, AND I TELL THEM, IT DEPENDS ON WHAT COUNTY YOU'RE IN. IT IS GREAT TO FIND SOME ONE WHO DOES HER NAME THE SAME WAY.

Tea Leoni, the actress married (still?) to David Duchovny, pronounces her name Tee-ah as wellThe name is supposedly Saami for "I wear my hair behind my ears, even tho that style looks like crap".

Actually I have heard of it...pronounced (Tee-ah) but spelled Tia. The girl character in "Escape to Witch Mountain" (the little actress was also Prudence on "Nanny and the Professor")However Thea is usually pronounced THEE-uh or TAY-uh. If you go by the spelling, I would assume it's a female variation of Theodore.Andrea
