The meading of Danae - Danaos (Mike C - you might want to see this)

Actually, Danae is related to the words "danos" meaning "bry, burned" and the verb "daio" meaning "to burn". Danae is the mythological name of Dry Gaia (Earth).

Danaos (a Homeric name for the Greeks) means "those who are born by Gaia/Earth"

And it's pronounced...

I believe, DAN-ah-ee. The accent over the E indicates the "ee" sound, like Zoë and Chloë.

DAN-ah-ee is impossible in Greek - the stress is too far from the end of the word. It should be da-NAH-ee.
