Spain was inhabited by Moors of North Africa could the use of this word been a result of the presence of the Moors in Spain? North Africans also were in the Americas in ancient times Olmeccan period. Great informative post. Thank you for sharing this knowledge to educate people.

The Moors of Spain spoke Arabic, a Semitic language unconnected with the Nilo-Saharan languages suggested here. Before they adopted Arabic and Islam they spoke North African languages more distantly related to Coptic (Egyptian) and Arabic. if there ws a transmission from Italic "amo" to Nilo-Saharan via Moorish Arabic, there's no sign of it, nor is there any evidence of direct transmission from Latin, especially as "amo" didn't have this specialized meaning it does in the later Romance languages of Europe.
