Maite, as you probably already know, is a conjunction of the names María and Teresa. It is prn. my-TEH. That "teh" at the end is NOT prn. "ay". It is a dry sound, as in the word in-te-resting. I have seen it spelled Mayté, but the correct spelling is Maite and have never come across it as a name but as nicknames for someone named María Teresa. There is also Marite prn. muh-ree-TEH, which comes form the same two names.I hope this helps,
