1. Max is fine on its own. I don't think anyone should force themselves to use an elaborated form if they don't love it.
2. Maxwell. It's the only Max- name, other than Max itself, that I like. I find it charming.
3. Max, since you don't like the longer forms.
I really dislike all the other longer Max- names you have listed. Just go with Max.
