@@ at all the Digbys - what's that all about? I've never met one single Digby, ever. Digby Herbert is especially Pythonesque; it sounds like someone from the Ministry of Silly Walks.
Quite liking Alexander Prosper, though. And Christopher and Elodie as sibs.

I don't see the appeal of Digby at all.

I was wondering about the Digby phenomenon too. Do you perhaps have popularity stats for it (since this site only had tops 100 for UK)? Is there a popular culture reference that might explain the increase?

DigbyBore da, stats a bit random because I'm half asleep:
29 Digbys last year
21 in 2010
16 in 2009
19 in 2008
6 in 2004
10 in 2003
7 in 2002
4 in 2001
0 in 2000
3 in 1996Not sure that points to any cultural trigger, just a small growth over time. I don't know of any celebrity Digbys - all Google had to offer was a 70s children's film called 'Digby - the biggest dog in the world' which seems an unlikely source!

It will be interesting to see stats for 2012, since I've managed to find 4 in this one announcement alone (collected from BAs for the past couple months).
