I don't know about where you live, but here in California, Kendall and Kindle are pronounced exactly the same.

I live in California. Kendall is KEN, Kindle is KIN. Similar, but not exactly the same.

In my accent, Kendall and Kindle do sound exactly the same. That is not an exaggeration. I'm not saying all Californians speak that way, but I do and so do many of my friends and acquaintances.

I looked it up, and apparently the pin-pen merger is more prevalent in the Southern states. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pin-pen_merger#Pin.E2.80.93pen_merger
