Do modern Greeks use mytholgical names?
I never met an Apollo or an Artemis, when I lived in Greece for a year. Do they use these names? I met Niko, Sokratos, Stavros, Eleni, lots of Panagiotas and Panagiotis. Wonder if it was just the area I lived in?DP just told me he had an Aphroditi in one of his classes, so maybe they do.

I'm sure it's like other mythologies (Scandinavian, Slavic, etc.), some names are popular, while others are never used. I've met:Dionisis
Iasonas
Leonidas
Orestis
Paris
Thanasis
Thanos
XenofonAthina
Dionysia
Kalliopi
Ourania
