Journey
I loved Journey for a girl when I was about 12. I've always had a soft spot for it as a word name, but I wonder whether people would think the parents were huge fans of the band.I think I'll never use this as I have many other favorites way higher on my list but I definitely like it. Do you think of it as more of a word name or do you immediately think of the band? What do you think of Journey?

DON'T STOP BELIEVING!I think it is a silly name for a child. Use it for a pet.

"Don't Stop Believing" was my first thought, too... especially that one scene in "Family Guy" where the characters sing "Don't Stop Believing" and show their love for Journey, heh heh:http://youtu.be/IdfMCctSLt4:P

I don't like it. Too word-y and corny and passive and dreamy, like True or Even. Destiny has a lot more power and backbone than Journey. And Journey is as band-y as Destiny is.I think I could get used to calling someone Journey, though, and after a while I'd forget all about the meaning and just think of it as a name. Because the word IS so bland and low-impact, to me - it'd become namey if it was used that way.

The sound of it isn't bad, but it's too cheesy. I think of the band.

The band is always first... the music is great, the name not so much.

I saw this this morning and wasn't really sure, but the more i look at it the more i like it! I think it would make an awesome fn, but if you're not sure, maybe use it as a mn and put another girl's name after it as well?

This is actually a big GP to me. I think of the word, but the band comes to mind too. I really hate some of the variants like Jurnee. I like it spelled as the word is really spelled.

I think of Journee Smollett, who played one of Michelle's friends on Full House. I think avoiding the band is possible. After all, I heard that some of the singers on American Idol didn't know the Beetles music when they sang it a couple weeks ago, and they're a bigger band.

She actually reminded me of the name because she's in a movie I saw the trailer of recently. She spells it Jurnee.

When the lights go down in the city...Yeah, I immediately think of the band. Makes a corny name, IMHO.

I don't think of the band unless prompted, but I lump it with the likes of Destiny and Truth which give it a very tacky feel. I would think the parents are young, American, and probably already have a couple of kids named MacKenzie and Nevaeh.

I've liked it for maybe 2-3 years, mostly as a GP. I think it make a good middle name, but it might be a little too much as a first name. But I wouldn't assume the parents were big fans of the band (but they should be, since they're great).

Hehe, Journey used to be a GP of mine and then I forgot about it. It makes me think of the band first, then the word. I feel like someone named Journey would probably be too young to care about the band...
