I think the only one I wouldn't use is Hermione. All the others are definitely usable. I think they are all great names! Cormac is the only one I am not that found of because it feels a little trendy but not too bad.

Tobias: Ugly.Cormac: Ugly.Oscar: Reminds me of a garbage can. It's cute for a pet.Gabriel: I'm not a fan of "L" ending boys names. Ambrose: Why would anyone name a boy such a girls name? Ick.Jasper: Sounds creepy.Leo: Reminds me of a lion. Again, a cute pet name because its short.Rupert: Ugly.Rory: Ugly.James: Classic and a great middle name.
Lydia: Pretty.Cordelia: Dated. I hate it.Iris: Sounds vain.Audrey: It's okay. I prefer Aubrey.Hermione: I love it but I could never name someone this because its so Harry Potter sounding. Elodie: I prefer Melody. I don't like it.Eleanore: I think it's okay. It sounds so medieval and just reminds me of a noblewoman. I prefer Eleanor, that way it sounds more strong.

I think they're all usable. The least usable are Ambrose and Hermione, but not to the extent that I'd be concerned about it.Tobias (Toby)- I like it, but I also think of Toby as a pet name because I have a cat named Toby.
Cormac- This is nice. Snappy and fresh.
Oscar- I've never understood the appeal of it. I guess I just don't like the way it sounds.
Gabriel- This is alright, but nothing that makes me stand up and take notice.
Ambrose- I like it. Some might view it as too feminine sounding, especially non-namenerds. But I don't think it is. I might relegate it to the middle name slot as a result, though.
Jasper- Another good one. I think it goes with Ambrose- they remind me of old Southern gentlemen.
Leo- One of my favorites. It's extremely usable, yet not common (at least in my area) or boring. It's simple and handsome.
Rupert (Roo)- Rupert makes me think of teddy bears- it's so soft and squishable. Roo is a fun nickname.
Rory- I like this, except for the fact that the double R sound can be a bit tricky to pronounce.
James- A nice classic. I'd use Jamie primarily, if it were my kid.Lydia- This is one of my favorites. I love the way it looks and sounds, and the vaguely Victorian vibe.
Cordelia (Cordie)- I also love Cordelia. So elegant. Cordie cheapens it a little for me, I'd be more likely to go with Cora as a nickname.
Iris- Very nice retro floral. I'd consider it myself.

None of them are unusable.I don't like these:
Tobias / Toby - Biblical bombast / doggie name
Ambrose - like ambrosia, it's bright pink. Indoorsy name.
Rupert / Roo - because of Roo. Like in Winnie the Poo, the baby Roo. What. Rupert is okay but sort of pretentious.
Elodie - if it rhymes Melody, it's shapeless and basically is Ella-dee. If it's AY-loady it's pretentious (unless you live where there are a lot of French speakers)
nn Cordie for Cordelia - it's Codi for the oh-teens! nms too spunkyI like these especially well:
Oscar
Gabriel - the brightest and most young-manly of Biblical names.
Jasper
Leo
Lydia - deserves to be the next name that gets as popular as Emily.
Audrey - power name.
Iris. It's trendy, but it's super.Rory is nice although not so nice spoken aloud
James is nice although generic and forgettable due to overuse, and becomes Jim or Jamie unless he's sort of uptight.
Cormac is nice but just a little too awkward for me to say aloud.
Eleanore / Elly has basically no faults (maybe the E on the end which is superfluous), but it doesn't strike me a lot.
Hermione is pretty, just not to my taste.
Cordelia is lovely but the right nn for it is Delia or Dede IMO.

None of them are unusable! Ambrose and Hermione are probably the least usable, though.Tobias "Toby" - I want to like this so much, but with Tobias now all I can think of is Tobias Funke, which, you know, no one deserves to be associated with that. Toby, meanwhile, is the name of this house-crashing, smarmy British hippie I met last summer in Boston. He proudly told a homeless man on the train that he didn't believe in marriage and later expressed the opinion that all this "junk food" in America is quite the novelty. (I hated him.) I do, however, like Tobin.Cormac - This is on my list. I think it's great. This guy named Cormac Cannon took over as assistant director for my old college marching band and I am of the opinion that it is one of the most badass names in the world. Drawbacks include: somebody might try to call him "Cory".Oscar - I get the appeal, but it doesn't appeal to me. I don't dislike it, though. Recently I realized that I no longer instantaneously associate it with Oscar the Grouch, so there's that, at least.Gabriel - It's nice, though I'd never use it myself. I think it makes a more interesting middle name than a first name.Ambrose - The first time I heard this name, way back in the day, I thought it was a girls' name. It has a very fusty quality to it, but I can see it being kind of clunk-chic, and I don't really have any strong objections to it.Jasper - I consider this a primo hipster name. I like it, like to see it on others' kids (though this may change, as it's starting to feel a little overplayed), wouldn't use it myself. It's very green.

Are they usable? Are they usable?? OF COURSE! Why in the world wouldn't they be?Tobias (Toby) - I love Tobias. Toby is cute, even if it's a bit of a dog name.
Cormac - Woohoo, great one!
Oscar - the grouch, obviously, but I've met a little Oscar and it still seems usable to me.
Gabriel - Very handsome.
Ambrose - Oooo, so alluring and wonderful
Jasper - Nice. Not too common, but easily recognizable. A good quality.
Leo - Fine nickname, but too nicknamey to be a full name in my books
Rupert (Roo) - Handsome and cute all in one
Rory - Not my style, but a fine name
James - Short and sweetLydia - again, not my style, but I'd appreciate hearing it at the playground
Cordelia (Cordie) - Awwww, Cordie is brilliant. Cordelia is bordering on over-the-top, but still cool
Iris - the fact that it's a body part kind of turns me off of it as a name
Audrey - Yup, a gooder. No objections here
Hermione - Harry Potter comments will ensue, and then everyone will get over it and move on
Elodie - so pretty
Eleanore (Elly) - Not my style, but I can see the appeal
