Re: How do you pronounce Adoniram?
in reply to a message by Leah
I would pronounce it Ah-doe-nih-rahm with soft a's and the o pronounced the same way as in dough, accent on the o. Don't take my word for it though, because my thoughts are based on Hebrew pronunciation of a similar word, and they're probably unrelated
hope that helped!

In the King James Bible the accents are marked a-don-i'-ram (1 Kings 4:6, 5:16); and a Bible dictionary gives the pronounciation, if I'm any judge, as "ah doh NEE raym", with a very very short ah at the beginning. What does your Bible dictionary say? (Personally I'd have said "ah doh NYE ram" at first, but there you go)The spider takes hold with her hands, and is in kings' palaces.

This is probably the English pronunciation. In Hebrew it would be Ah-DOH-nee-rahm, the DOH-part sounds like "door"

I forgot: "door" in British English!
